As part of practice calculating speed, we moved 20 meters down the hall and calculated our speed. Each student found an animal that moved at a similar speed. These were some of the hilarious digital posters created by the 8 Blue students.

Students saw a presentation about the high school course placement process on Tuesday. Here is a link to the presentation:
schools.shrewsburyma.gov/oak/documents/SHSProgramofstudies.pdf There is a presentation for parents at Shrewsbury High School on February 28th at 6:30. Teachers will start making recommendations the week after February vacation. We just wrapped up our Truth unit in ELA, and I was so impressed with what they learned! Students wrote research reports analyzing the importance of truth in the media. Their essays covered a wide range of topics, from the rapid spread of false news to the impact that the media had on the election. The students learned a lot about evaluating sources and how to be critical consumers of the news. This poem written by a student sums up the unit nicely:
